iPhone or Android?

Choosing the right device for you

I know, it is really hard to choose between an iPhone or a phone powered by Android, both platforms have their good and bad points.

I’m not going to write about those points, if you are thinking about which one is the best for you is maybe because you have already read a lot about them, and you know what is good and bad about both.

I’m going to give you an idea that may release the pressure on you, about deciding if you need to buy the iPhone or an Android phone.

How to choose between iPhone and Android, -Not choosing-

What has worked for me was to get an Android phone (Xperia X10 mini pro, in my case) and the iPod touch. Yes, that way have the best of both worlds, you may be saying “two devices” and yes, why not?, that way I have access, to the great way to manage my music that iTunes has, also all the Apple store apps, and at the same time the Android apps are available for me.

Other options could be to have an Android phone and the iPad, or the iPhone and an Android tablet.

Great alternative to Blackberry for your company

Blackberry, is a great solution for any company needing email on the go, but there are some good alternatives.

The good thing is that there is no need to pay a Blackberry package, only a data package and in lots of countries this comes for free with your subscription.

What is needed.

  • Email server compatible with Exchange (Active sync)
    • The MS Exchange server is an option
    • Google Apps is another (The best for me, as it is cheaper, and do not involve MS)
  • ActiveSync compatible phones
    • iPhone
    • Nokia
    • Windows mobile phones
I am using Google Apps and Nokia E71 or E72, for me those are much better options than Blackberry solution, you have push email, and lots of other applications at a fraction cost you would have them for blackberry.

Also if you use iphone or Android phones, you may find thousand of applications, once again at a fraction of the cost they are for blackberry, if they exists at all.

How to configure them?

Well, Google has the answers, just look for let's say.

"Google apps nokia E71 mfe"
"Google apps exchange iphone"

And you will find the answers, so if you are looking for alternatives to blackberry solution for your company, give these options a try.
